Shane was born and raised around the ocean’s and Mountains of BC’s lower mainland but ending up losing his heart to Alberta! Originally from Victoria, Shane’s Grampa Norm was a huge influence on him. Dairy farmer Norm came from the influence of World War’s and great depression. Needless to say “work before play” was a constant reminder. However Grampa was also an avid hunter, fisherman and a square dance caller. “I remember him pulling out his sound system on the driveway and playing all his square dance records and doing his calls. I just wanted to play with the microphone and hear myself through the speakers!” Shane remembers. It really was a magical childhood with a pretty amazing single mom who went from the Farmers daughter to a sitting Justice of the Peace.
After a stint at BCIT’s broadcast school the open road called and Shane eventually set out for on air jobs in Cranbrook, Brandon, Vernon and eventually Edmonton. “As a BC boy I never thought I would love Alberta as much as I did. I’ve been here most of my adult life and just adore Parkland County. First raising my two boys on an acreage in Graminia and now as a single dad in Spruce Grove”.
A total outdoor enthusiast , Shane also is an avid golfer, skier and a really good Frisbee player!
