Brady will elect to hit free agency when the new NFL season officially starts tomorrow.
Tom Brady is leaving the New England Patriots.
The 43-year-old superstar quarterback is scheduled to hit free agency at the official start of the new NFL season tomorrow. Amidst consistent debates throughout the offseason about his future with the Patriots, Brady posted two pictures on Instagram this morning saying he will be taking his NFL journey elsewhere. He thanked the fans, coaching staff, teammates and team staff in the posts.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Los Angeles Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have both tabled offers to the three time NFL MVP, and both are believed to be in the $30 million per year range. The Buccaneers are also believed to have offered him full control of their offense.
Brady has won an NFL record six Super Bowls as the Patriots starting quarterback after being drafted in the 6th round of the draft in 2000. He currently sits second on the all time leaderboard in both passing yards and passing touchdowns, while sitting first in all time wins with 219.
