TJ Lloyd named CJHL Top Defenceman

Saints captain one of five nominees for award

Spruce Grove Saints defenceman TJ Lloyd has won the Canadian Junior Hockey League's Top Defenceman Award.

Lloyd surpassed fellow nominees James Miller (Penticton Vees), Zack Hoffman (Navan Grads), Marc-Eric Bourque (Titan de Princeville), and Kyle Auger (Thunder Bay North Stars).
Lloyd won the AJHL's W.G. (Bill) Scott Memorial Trophy as Outstanding Defenceman, and captained Team Canada West at the 2018 World Junior A Challenge.

In 53 games this year, Lloyd finished with 11 goals, 34 assists, and three game-winning goals.

He's now set to move on next season, having committed to Bowling Green State University for the upcoming season.
