Stony Plain's Henkel leads Rebels into CJFL season

Former Kamloops Bronco returns to BCFC

A local athlete is wrapping up his junior football career this season.

Stony Plain's Colby Henkel will quarterback the Westshore Rebels, who play in the Canadian Junior Football League's BC Conference.

The 21-year-old began his junior career in 2016 with the Kamloops Broncos, where he was named the league's Rookie of the Year.

After two seasons with the Broncos, Henkel moved to Ontario last season, where he played for the University of Windsor Lancers.

The Memorial Composite High School graduate recorded 171 completions for more than 2100 yards during his two seasons in Kamloops.
