Saints win back to back against Pontiacs

The Spruce Grove Saints continued their scorching pace this season, taking down the Bonnyville Pontiacs in back to back games on the weekend.

On Friday night in Bonnyville, the Saints started strong, scoring two goals in the first period courtesy of Stanley Cooley and Ryan Harker. They then followed it up with a goal from Jordan Biro in the second and by Seth Fyten in the third. Harker and Fyten's goals came on the powerplay. Matt Davis made 22 saves in the game to improve his record to 8-1-0.

The Saints offensive prowess continued on Saturday when they took down the Pontiacs 7-2, this time on home ice. Fyten and Graham gamache both scored twice in the game, while Brayden Nicholetts, Jordan Biro and Tanner Klassen added tallies of their own. The Saints scored the goal trifecta in the game, with a powerplay, shorthanded and even strength goal.

With the two wins, the Saints improve to 12-2-0 on the season, good for 2nd place in the North Division, behind the Sherwood Park Crusaders. The Saints take on the Drayton Valley Thunder tomorrow night.
