Win moves team back into first place tie
The Spruce Grove Saints picked up a 4-3 win on the road last night, over the Grizzlys down in Olds.
The Saints got goals from defencemen TJ Lloyd and Tanner Hickey in the first period, as Logan Ganie and Parker Saretsky added their own in the second and third periods, respectively.
Rookie Matt Rempe also had two assists for Spruce Grove in the win.
Matt Davis made 23 saves for his fifth win in a row to start the season.
Tuesday night was also the first time the 17-year-old has allowed more than two goals in a game all year.
With the win, the Saints move back into a tie for first place in the AJHL North standings with the Bonnyville Pontiacs, who also have 12 points.
Those two teams will play twice in the next week, with games in Bonnyville coming up this Friday and next Wednesday.
In between those two, the Saints check back into Spruce Grove for a Thanksgiving Sunday matinee against the Calgary Canucks.
That’ll be the One’s Game of the Week, with a 1:40 pregame show set for a 2 pm puck drop.
