The Stony Plain Flyers won both of their games this weekend.
On Friday night, they took on the Sherwood Park Knights, and won 3-1. Noah Wiens was incredible for Stony Plain, stopping 37 shots for his 8th win of the year. After trailing 1-0 early in the first, the Flyers scored three times from Sean Nault, Owen Churko and Brett Hodge to take a 3-1 lead, which would hold up as the winner.
Sunday they won again, this time against the Leduc Co-op Riggers. The game required a comeback for Stony Plain, who scored two in the third and one in overtime to win 3-2 after trailing following the second period. Mitchel McEwan potted the OT winner, and Wiens was once again busy, this time facing 45 shots.
