The club will travel to Fort McMurray for games this Saturday and Sunday against the Oil Barons.
The Spruce Grove Saints were in action over the weekend where they split both their games at home against the Grande Prairie Storm.
On Friday, the group trailed the Storm 2-0 through two periods, but Adam Hall, Jake Aston and Nikola Jovanovic helped tie the game at three apiece, with Luigi Benincasa scoring the game-winner in a shoot-out, giving the Saints a 4-3 win.
Then on Saturday, the Saints had a 4-3 lead through two periods thanks to quick comeback goals in the first that included two from Graham Gamache, but the Storm’s Paycen Bjorklund was able to sneak two passed Tyler Palmer with Bjorklund’s third-period goal proving to be the game-winner, giving the Saints a 5-4 loss.
With that, the Saints are now second in the North Division and two points behind the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, a team they will take on this Saturday and Sunday at Centrefire Place.
