Saints shut out in Camrose

Kodiaks pick up 3-0 win

The Spruce Grove Saints couldn’t find the back of the net in Camrose last night, losing 3-0 to the Kodiaks.

Special teams played a big part in the game last night, as the Kodiaks got powerplay goals from Lane Brockhoff and Cale Chalifoux in each of the first two periods, to carry a lead into the third.

In the third, Brockhoff and Dylan Bourlai dropped the gloves about halfway through, but it was unable to spark the Saints.

Carson Welke sealed the win with a shorthanded empty netter, on a night where the Saints powerplay went 0 for 8.

Matthew Davis took the tough luck loss despite stopping 28 of 30 shots, while Griffin Bowerman stopped 30 for his third shutout of the year.

The Saints get a night off tonight before a return to action tomorrow against the Lloydminster Bobcats.

Lloyd also played last night, and were also shut out, 6-0 at the hands of the Bonnyville Pontiacs.

Puck drop Friday is at 7:30, with the end of the road trip coming Sunday at 2 in Drayton Valley.
