Season/home opener set for September 13 vs Drayton Valley
The Spruce Grove Saints will open the upcoming season with a home and home against the Drayton Valley Thunder.
That will begin with a game in Spruce Grove on Friday September 13.
On Thursday, the AJHL officially unveiled its schedule for this season, which consists of 58 games.
That's down from 60 last season, as the Calgary Mustangs have taken a leave of absence for the upcoming season.
The Saints will start with a seven-game exhibition schedule, starting with back-to-back split squad games against Drayton Valley at Grant Fuhr Arena on August 27.
While most home games this season are on Friday and Saturday nights, the Saints have six Sunday afternoon dates at Grant Fuhr Arena, starting October 13 against Fort McMurray.
The home schedule also includes five Tuesday games, two Thursday games, and one Monday game.
Spruce Grove will also get three games against the defending champion Brooks Bandits this year, starting with a game at the League Showcase on September 26 in Camrose.
They'll play in Brooks on October 26, and back in Spruce Grove on November 9.
The regular season wraps up on February 27 with a visit from Olds.
