Game one of the regular season will take place in Spruce Grove tonight at 7 pm.

The Spruce Grove Saints will kick off their regular season tonight with a home and home matchup against the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

The club enters this weekend with their heads held high after they weren't able to get a win during their exhibition series and saw their double-header against Fort McMurray last weekend canceled due to poor visibility on the highway.

Saints forward Luigi Benincasa is the lead Saint to watch after picking up seven points during the exhibition series, while Crusaders forward and 2021 NHL Draft prospect Ty Mueller led his team with thirteen points.

Despite the recently announced two-week team sports hiatus in the province, the Saints, as well as other teams in the AJHL will continue to participate in a season with proper safety protocols taking place including a cap on attendance for each game.

Tonight's home opener will take place at Grant Fuhr Arena at 7 pm, followed by a rematch in Sherwood Park the following night at 7:15 pm.
