Saints edge Thunder in matinee

Saints come back from second period deficit

For the first time in this year's exhibition schedule, the Spruce Grove Saints trailed in a hockey game yesterday afternoon.

But the visiting Drayton Valley Thunder couldn't hold onto that 2-1 advantage when it was all said and done.

Seth Fyten tied the game midway through the second, while Tristan Zandee scored on a shorthanded breakaway in the third, to give the Saints a 3-2 win.

Greg Nelson also scored for the home team in the win.

Next up is a home and home with Camrose, before the Saints finish the preaseason on the road in Drayton Valley on Sunday.

The Saints final preseason game runs tomorrow night, with puck drop at 7:00.
