Spruce Grove beats Drayton Valley for fourth time
The Spruce Grove Saints scored another 2-1 win over the Drayton Valley Thunder last night.
While the Saints needed a shootout to hit that score last Friday, Tuesday night’s game was decided in regulation.
Seth Fyten got the Saints on the board less than four minutes in, for his second goal in as many games.
Rookie forward Matthew Kinash got the Thunder back in the hockey game before the period was out, tying things up 1-1.
Half of Kinash’s six goals this season have come against Spruce Grove.
In the second, Parker Saretsky scored his team leading 12th goal of the season for the Saints, who were able to hold the lead over the final 35 minutes of the game.
Saints rookie goaltender Andreai Proctor-Ramirez, who's up with the team while Matthew Davis is playing for Team Canada West in Bonnyville, recorded the first win of his AJHL career, stopping 27 of 28 shots.
Luke Lush made 26 saves in a losing effort for the Thunder.
Up next for the Saints, a visit from the Bonnyville Pontiacs on Friday night.
It's The One's Game of the Week, with puck drop set for 7 and the pregame show at 6:40.
