Saints duo nominated in year-end awards

G Matthew Davis, D TJ Lloyd nominated for league honours

The Spruce Grove Saints are getting some recognition, with the announcement of the AJHL's Award finalists.

Saints goaltender Matthew Davis wasn't nominated in the tight race for Top Goaltender, but was instead put forward for Rookie of the Year.

He's up against Sherwood Park's Carter Savoie, as well as Okotoks goaltender Brady Parker, and Drumheller's Roc Truman.

Captain TJ Lloyd was also nominated for the league's Outstanding Defenceman award.

Fellow nominees are Luke Albert of the Bonnyville Pontiacs, Canmore Eagles captain Mark Drohan, and Zach Vinnell from Camrose.

Winners will be announced during the final week of the regular season.

Meanwhile the Saints hit the ice in Calgary tonight at 7:30, for a matchup with the Mustangs.
