The Spruce Grove Saints have made a huge splash in the trade market by acquiring defenseman Ryan Conroy and forward Johnathan Assayag from the Fort MacMurray Oil Barons.

In exchange, the Saints are sending Colson Gengenbach and Riley Bodnarchuk up north. In Conroy, they will get an 18-year-old powerplay anchor with a hard shot and great offensive instincts. So fat this season, Conroy has 9 points in 22 games, including two powerplay markers. Assayg was in the midst of his rookie season with the Oil Barons, and has put up 11 points in 20 games, while also logging powerplay time.

The two players will join the Saints on their road trip this weekend when they play Calgary on Friday, Canmore on Saturday, and Olds on Sunday.
