Regals sliding, Eagles starting strong

Stony Plain Eagles beat champs in home opener

The Spruce Grove Regals are continuing to slide in the Capital Junior Hockey League standings.

After opening the season with a win, the team has lost seven straight games, and given up eight goals against in three of those games.

The Regals are back on the ice Wednesday when they host the Fort Sask Hawks, who come into the game with a record of 3-4.

Meanwhile the Stony Plain Flyers are getting set to host Beaumont on Friday.

The Flyers are coming off an 8-3 loss in St. Albert on Sunday.

And the Stony Plain Eagles are off to a solid start in Allen Cup West action.

After a week one win in Innisfail, the Eagles beat the Lacombe Generals in overtime on Saturday, and visit Lacombe again on Friday night.

The Eagles are back home against Innisfail on Saturday.
