Posse split weekend doubleheader

Loss against Lakeland followed by win in Vermilion

The Parkland Posse wrapped up a doubleheader on the road with a split this weekend.

The team had eight regulars out of the lineup heading into the weekend, and had a tough start in Cold Lake on Saturday, with an 11-4 loss to the Lakeland Heat.

The Posse were then down another man, after captain Ethan Sim was handed a three game suspension following a high sticking penalty in the game.

He'll be eligible to return next Sunday against Westlock.

The team still managed to grind out a 6-5 win over Vermilion on Sunday afternoon, with a team-leading four points from Seth Bellerose.

After the Roar tied the score with about three minutes to play, River Scott scored the winner with just 27 seconds left in the third period.

Up next, a visit to Sherwood Park to play the Titans on Wednesday.

Following that, the Posse will host St. Albert on Friday, and play in Westlock on Sunday to put a wrap on the regular season.
