Pontiacs beat Saints 2-1

Bonnyville just the third team to beat Saints this season

The Bonnyville Pontiacs are back in a tie for first place in the AJHL North Division, after a 2-1 win over Spruce Grove Wednesday night.

The Saints got on the board early, thanks to a tip-in from Logan Ganie, for a 1-0 lead less than three minutes in.

Pontiacs starter Colby Muise stole the show the rest of the way, stopping 33 shots in the Pontiacs' 2-1 win.

Marc-Antoine Benoit and Daine Dubois had the Bonnyville goals, as rookie Matthew Davis lost for just the first time all season in the Saints goal.

Spruce Grove now looks ahead to a game Friday night against Fort McMurray.

It's the first meeting of the season between the two teams, with the Barons sitting one game above .500 through their first nine games of the year.

Puck drop at Grant Fuhr Arena is set for 7:00, with the pregame show on 88.1 The One kicking off at 6:40.
