Local PAC Saint taken in WHL Bantam Draft

Former Saint Ziemmer also taken in Top 5

There are a couple local connections to report following Thursday's WHL Bantam Draft.

Defenceman Matthew Sutter was taken in the sixth round, 113th overall by the Calgary Hitmen.

The 5'11" 148 lb defenceman had 20 points in 31 games for the Bantam Triple-A PAC Saints this season, and also lead the team with 125 penalty minutes.

The captain was also named to the league's all-star game in Fort Saskatchewan.

Meanwhile, a member of last year's Triple-A team became a top-five pick.

The Prince George Cougars took Koehn Ziemmer with the fourth overall pick, after he enrolled at the Okanagan Hockey Academy's campus in Edmonton this year.

Last year, Ziemmer led the PAC Saints with 53 points in 36 games.
