Jordan Pink scores twice, Flyers take down Jets 4-3

The Stony Plain Flyers continued their solid start to the season on Friday night, beating the Morinville Jets 4-3.

The Stony Plain Flyers continued their solid start to the season on Friday night, beating the Morinville Jets 4-3.

It was a fast paced matchup right out of the gate. Jordan Pink opened the scoring for the Flyers with his third of the year 3:57 into the game. After Josh Mcrae tied the game with a shorthanded goal, Brennan Franks potted his 10th of the year to put the Flyers up 2-1. Morinville would add another tally with 32 seconds left to tie the game at 2 after the first period.

The second frame came and went without any scoring, but the Flyers offense came back in the third. Mitchel McEwan scored on the Pwerplay, and Jordan Pink scored his second of the game assisted by Jacob Pink. The Pink Connection goal held up as the winner as the Flyers took the game 4-3. Noah Wiens stopped 20 of 23 shots to bring his record over .500 to 3-2-0.

The Flyers take on the Edmonton Mustangs on Friday.
