Edwards and Rempe were selected during the second day of the virtual NHL Draft.
Two former Spruce Grove Saints players were selected by two different clubs during the final day of the NHL Draft.
Defenceman Ethan Edwards who played with the Saints last season was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the 4th round 120th overall. Edwards joined the team during the club's 2018-2019 playoff run and later appeared in 50 games, putting up nine goals and 33 points along with 83 penalty minutes.
"For a young player like Edwards to come into the AJHL and have an immediate impact is very special," said Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk in an online statement. "The New Jersey Devils have a great player and person in Edwards, and I cannot wait to see him in the NHL.”
Along with Edwards, Saints turned Seattle Thunderbirds centerman Matthew Rempe was selected in the sixth round, 165th overall by the New York Rangers. He had 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points in 47 games in his rookie season last year.
