Former WHLer Ryan Peckford joining team

A local kid is coming home to play for the Spruce Grove Saints.

19-year-old Ryan Peckford from Stony Plain is joining the team after a stint in the WHL.

He broke in with the Victoria Royals as a 16-year-old, and put up 72 points in 140 games, over a two and a half year stretch with the team.

Peckford was dealt to the Moose Jaw Warriors  partway through last year, and also started this season there.

This year, he put up 8 goals and 16 points in 20 games with the Warriors.

Peckford was a member of the PAC Saints up until the end of bantam, before playing a season of Midget AAA with the St. Albert Raiders.

He's expected to wear #10, and suit up for the Saints on Friday night.
