The Saints will take on Sherwood Park at home this Friday.
The regular season is back!
Despite the Saints doubleheader against Fort McMurray being canceled over the weekend due to poor weather, the club, along with seven other teams in the North will participate in the regular season kick off this Friday.
This year's season will of course have a number of new adjustments as the province continues its battle through the COVID-19 pandemic, but the team is happy that it was given the green light by the province early on.
"The guys are super pumped," says Saints play-by-play broadcaster Brandon Ewanchyshyn. "There was definitely a loud cheer from them (after the announcement) and all in all, we're ready to go."
The club recently wrapped up its exhibition series as well as take part in a newly created Development Season and remain optimistic about the future, especially with its recent WHL additions from Seattle.
"Those guys still need a place to play, and Spruce Grove is the natural option. It makes the league a little more exciting to watch."
Friday night's game against the Crusaders will take place at Grant Fuhr Arena, then the team will travel to Sherwood Park for another evening rematch.
All teams in the league will play within a divisional format composed of a South Division and a North Division.
