Parkland RCMP have broken a vandalism case from back in 2012.
Sometime between April 14th and 15th in 2012, two suspects entered a local property and broke into a locked barn that contained four antique cars. After breaking in, the suspects proceeded to remove two of the cars, a 1925 Ford Model T and a 1956 Studebaker, and destroyed them. The Studebaker was driven into mud and set on fire, while the Model T was put in a ditch and had its windows smashed and body damaged.
A recent break in the case allowed RCMP to find and charge the two suspects. 26 year-old Ryan Scott of Stony Plain and another suspect who cannot be named since he was underage at the time, are facing arson, mischief and property damage charges.
Scott is pleading not guilty to the charges, and will appear in court on March 20, 2020. The other suspect's next court appearance is scheduled for November 15th.
