Tussic plan moves ahead following public hearing

Council to be asked for further approvals next year

Stony Plain council is continuing to move forward with plans for a new neighbourhood.

The Tussic Area Structure Plan was moved forward at council's last meeting, following a public hearing on the plans.

The Tussic neighbourhood is to be developed on land between Golf Course Road and Veterans Boulevard, north of Highway 628.

The Area Structure Plan lays out guidelines for development, which is set to include housing of various densities, along with parks, a trail system, and a location for a future school.

The other complex part of the plan relates to the realignment of the creek corridor, along with storm water ponds.

Feedback taken from council at the public hearing will be taken by town staff and the developer.

The plan will be brought back to council for further approval in the new year.
