Tri-region's recreational options to be represented at info night

The Tri-Municipal Region Spring Info Night takes place Thursday, Feb. 21 from 6:00-8:30 at Heritage Park in Stony Plain.

Families in the tri-region will get a look at all the activities and programs available to them in the spring and summer.

The Tri-Municipal Region Spring Info Night is a collaboration between Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County to create a single location where families can explore the area’s upcoming recreational options.

Kelly Maluta of the Town of Stony Plain says this a great opportunity to find out about lesser-known groups, especially for parents with young children.

"People with young children who are looking to put them into something new or [it's] the first time putting them into a sports or recreation program; it's a good way for them to get all the information we have out in the community. There's a lot of things that people probably don't realize are out there for young children," she said.

She says a total of 56 groups will be present, and she’s especially excited about the new organizations that are expected to attend.

"As a parent, it's exciting to see the new things that I could potentially signup my child for," she said.

The event runs from 6:00 to 8:30 Thursday night at Heritage Park in Stony Plain.
