Thursday at 9:00 in Stony Plain, Friday at 9:30 in Spruce Grove.
People in the tri-region can bring their blankets and lawn chairs down to either Stony Plain or Spruce Grove for two different outdoor movies this week.
The first comes tomorrow night in Stony Plain’s Heritage Park. It begins at 7:00 with pre-movie activities like crafts, games, and face painting. Once the sun goes down around 9:00, attendees will see the premiere of a short film about a local pioneer, titled “Israel Umbach and the Little Settlement That Could”. The 2018 Disney movie, “Mary Poppins Returns” will then play.
Central Park in Spruce Grove will then welcome moviegoers on Friday night. The 9:30 screening will show the 2019 fantasy-adventure flick, “Missing Link”. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase on-site.
The Stony Plain event will go rain or shine, as it has the option to move indoors, while the Spruce Grove screening depends on the weather. Both movies are free to attend.
