Respresentatives of the Tri-Leisure Centre intend to upgrade their leisure facilities and their security within the confines of their 2020 operating budget.
R made a presentation to Spruce Grove city council on Monday night about the operating budget and future upgrades for the centre.
The slideshow presentation showed generally stable operating expenses since 2017, and unveiled that their draft budget for 2020 will be just over $6.35 million. Infrastructure budgets would clock in around $175,000 and budgeted capital expense would be approximately $320,000.
Some of the upgrades that are looking to be implemented include re-tiling the pool deck, re-surfacing the running track, and doing some painting around the centre, among others.
Another big issue brought up at the meeting was security. Recent break ins and thefts from the centre have made keeping valuables, vehicles and customers safe a very large priority. The centre intends to add additional cameras to the interior and exterior of the building, and they are considering a new locker system.
