Apply by Sept. 27 for Stony Plain; Sept. 31 for Parkland County.
Two local fire squads are looking for paid, on-call firefighters by the end of the month.
That’s with the Town of Stony Plain and Parkland County, with the former having a Sept. 27 application deadline, and the latter making it Sept. 30.
The requirements for each posting are nearly identical. You must be 18-years or older, have a valid class 5 driver’s license, and both do not require previous firefighting experience.
For Stony Plain, you must reside within the town and for the County, you must be within 10 minutes of a firehall.
Stony Plain’s Fire Chief, Trevor Mistal, says they’re looking for people who want to make a difference in the community. He says the ideal candidate is physically-fit, committed, and can remain calm under pressure.
Both fire departments demand recruits attend regular training sessions that will initially focus on theory.
