The Town of Stony Plain opened up a time capsule at a ceremony last night.
The capsule was originally buried back in 1955, and was dug up and rededicated by locals in 1994. The ceremony started at 5:00 last night, and after it was complete, the items were put on display. The ceremony was followed up by a reception at the Stony Plain United Church.
A new time capsule was also buried at the ceremony, with a opening date of 2044. Residents of the area were able to submit ideas as to what should go into the capsule.
