Structure Fire in Sunset Point

Minor damage after Friday morning blaze.

Around 10:13 a.m. on Friday morning, the North West Fire Rescue- Onoway received reports of a structure fire in the Summer Village of Sunset Point. 

Fire crews arrived on scene around seven minutes later, discovering significant amounts of smoke pouring out of the home located on 48A Avenue.  It was unknown if anybody was inside, so fire crews quickly forced entry and conducted a search  which both located the origin of the fire and confirmed no one was in the residence at the time of the fire.  Additionally, crews were able to maintain the fire to a single room to minimize damage.

Nobody was injured in the incident and at its peak, the fire was fought by four units and sixteen firefighters.
