Downtown redevelopment work expected to last into fall
Main Street in Stony Plain will be a messy place for the next few months.
Starting June 3, construction will start south of the 51 Avenue intersection, up to 53 Avenue, with vehicle traffic closed along that stretch until the end of the construction season.
It's all a part of the town's downtown redevelopment project.
Businesses along that stretch will stay open, with modified pedestrian access maintained throughout rolling sidewalk closures.
Crews say their lives will be made easier if people keep vehicles and pets away from the site, and don't tamper with signs and barricades.
