Stony Plain’s 2018 Annual Report has been completed, with the Town's goal of absolute transparency.
The yearly update highlights some of the Town’s projects, initiatives, and milestones.
2018 saw the addition of two public art murals, the rehabilitation of one mural, and the re-installment of two others.
The year also saw projects like the competition of Veterans Boulevard, the near-completion of Phase II of the Downtown Redevelopment, and the start of work on the new Downtown Library.
Other highlights include the approval of 50 new business licenses, a diversion of 56.7% of waste from landfills, and improvements to Rotary Park's trails, playground, gazebo, and landscaping.
The Town’s Corporate Services has received praise for its previous reports, winning a Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for the past seven years straight. It says its aims to receive the accolade for the 2018 edition as well.
