RCMP deployed spike belts to recover stolen vehicles which resulted in three arrests.
RCMP have arrested three individuals after investigating into a stolen vehicle case.
In the early morning hours of Saturday April 28th, Stony Plain RCMP were received a complaint of a stolen vehicle. Then while making patrols, an RCMP member identified the vehicle and another which was later determined to be the getaway truck.
Members were able to set up ahead of the trucks where they deployed spike belts on both vehicles.
The occupants in the getaway vehicle were arrested. The occupant of the stolen vehicle fled the scene but was tracked dog by Police Dog Services.
Thirty-two year old Matthew McKay has since been charged with five offences including possession of stolen property, driving while disqualified and three counts of failure to comply.
Nineteen year old Justice Crabbe was also charged with possession of stolen property, theft of truck, driving while disqualified and five counts of failure to comply.
The third person arrested is a minor who will not be named and has been charged with possession of stolen property.
McKay and Crabbe appeared in Stony Plain Provincial Court on May 2nd and the youth will appear in court at a later date.
