Earlier this week, Stony Plain MLA Erin Babcock took to social media to share some sad news regarding her health- she's now undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with uterine cancer.

Babcock's treatment, described as "aggressive" in the post, is being done at the Cross Cancer Institute and began on May 7th.  While the treatment of her cancer will take a few months, the Stony Plain MLA says she remains committed to staying on in her capacity as an elected government official.

"Serving as the MLA for the past three years has been a great honour, and it is a job I will continue to do. My reasons for entering politics continue to drive me forward every day – Helping to build our communities to make sure they are resilient and work for every community member," says Babock in her post.

Babcock, who's also a licensed practical nurse, is currently in her first term as an MLA.
