The new Stony Plain Council will begin discussions on the 2018-2020 Corporate Plan
Today marks the beginning of budgetary plans for the Town of Stony Plain.
Council will begin the first day of discussions on their Corporate Plan which not only outlines the budget for Council but also key initiatives and infrastructure plans until the year 2020.
The entire Corporate Plan for 2018-2020 can be viewed here, but here are some key aspects outlined in the plan:
- Administration recommends a hiring freeze for 2018
- The tax increase was originally supposed to be 4.88% but the suggested hiring freeze brings it down to 2.15%
- A potential increase of municipal property taxes of 2.15% results in an increase of approximately $1.02 per household
Corporate Planning discussions begin tonight at 6 p.m. and will continue tomorrow and Wednesday all starting at 6 p.m. The plan will be discussed at length and voted on by the end of the three days.
