Stony Plain Enacts a Water Restriction

Due to low reservoir levels, the Town has enacted an odd/even water restriction.

The Town of Stony Plain has placed a water restriction on the area effective immediately and lasting for two weeks.

During this time, residents should refrain from watering lawns, washing cars or other activities which excessively use water outside of their designated watering days.

Residents living in even numbered homes may perform these activities on even numbered days, and people in odd numbered houses may do this on odd numbered days.

General Manager of Planning and Infrastructure Paul Hanlan notes, "The odd/even restriction allows residents to continue performing their regular tasks while working together as a community to build the reservoir levels back up."

Hanlan also adds the restriction is necessary due to low water levels combined with extremely hot temperatures.

Updates on the water restriction will be provided as they occur, and updates will be provided through the Town's social media accounts.
