Stony Plain Council gave first reading on the Tusic Area Structure Plan

The plan proposes a new residential neighborhood for the lands east of Golf Course Road, west of Veterans Boulevard.

Stony Plain Councillors gave first reading to a new bylaw adopting the Tusic Area Structure plan.

The plan is including low to medium density residential l areas, a few high density residential sites as well as a new school, parks and trails.

A collector road is proposed to loop through the area from the north and connect to each of the surrounding arterial roads.. this weill allow for efficient traffic flow.

Miles Dibble is a Sustainability Planner with the town of Stony Plain and tells One News what the process is now after first reading.

The work would be done  for the lands east of Golf Course Road, west of Veterans Boulevard.

The proposed plan was presented to the public during an open house in September and a public hearing will be held during the December 10th Council meeting.
