Stony Plain brings common complaints into new bylaw

Streamlined bylaw incorporates five previous ones

Stony Plain council has signed off on a new streamlined bylaw that incorporates old ones that dealt with common complaints like vandalism, noise control, and nuisance.

The new Community Standards bylaw rolls five old ones into an updated version, which includes updated language and terminology to make it clearer for people to understand.

Town staff also say this makes it easier for officers to enforce, as there's now a single point of reference.

Some of the things covered in the bylaw include graffiti, fighting in public, and disposing of old appliances on your property.
