RCMP have arrested a 68 year old cab driver who is alleged to attempt to form relationships with teenage females.
A lengthy investigation has led to the arrest of one St. Albert resident.
St. Albert RCMP General Investigations Section with the assistance of Alert's Integrated Child Exploitation Unit arrested a cab driver for numerous child exploitation offences.
It is alleged the St. Albert resident would provide rides, gifts and contact teenage females via his cellular device in an attempt to form relationships for a sexual purpose.
68 year-old Imam Buksh has now been charged with:
- Transmitting Child Pornography
- Luring a Child for a Sexual Purpose
- Make Arrangement to Commit a Sexual Offence Against a Child
- Attempt to Commit a Sexual Assault On a Child
- Counsel to Attempt to Commit Sexual Interference
Currently St. Albert RCMP do not have information to suggest Buksh offended on any of the teenagers, but acknowledge Buksh has provided cab rides to other young people and there could potentially be other victims. RCMP also ask anyone with any information to come forward.
Buksh is appearing in St. Albert Provincial Court on April 16, 2018.
