A 17 year old man has been arrested after bringing a fake handgun to school.
St. Albert RCMP have arrested and charged a youth with weapon offences.
On October 30th at approximately 3:40 p.m., St. Albert RCMP responded to a report of a 17 year old male bringing a replica handgun to school and using it to threaten a student. Later that evening the RCMP came to the teens house and arresting him while seizing the fake gun.
The youth, who cannot be named is now facing three charges including, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats against a person.
He is scheduled to appear in Youth Court on January 2, 2018.
The RCMP also communicated with the St. Albert Catholic High School and introduced the Violence Threat Risk Assessment in order to ensure the safety of all students is the number one priority.
