Search continues for two people aboard missing aircraft.
Search and rescue teams have been looking for a missing single-engine aircraft in British Columbia since Saturday evening and a family has identified the missing pilot of the aircraft as Dominic Neron of Spruce Grove, 28.
Reports say Neron left Penticton, B.C. with his girlfriend aboard the small plane around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, with the plane later reported missing at 10:40 p.m. according to a spokesperson for the Victoria Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre.
Neron's cellphone was last picked up just north of Revelstoke, indicated by the pictured map.
Those close to the situation say Neron owned the aircraft and was also familiar with the route. Neron and his girlfriend were flying to Revelstoke to visit family.
Search efforts have been focused largely in the area between Revelstoke and Rogers Pass but has yet to yield results. Bad weather yesterday proved problematic for search parties, but efforts resumed this morning.
More details when they become available.
