Residents can put unwanted items on their front yard to be claimed by others on Saturday and Sunday.
One person’s trash may be another one’s treasure this weekend in Spruce Grove.
The Free-cycle event runs on Saturday and Sunday and offers residents the chance to leave unwanted items on their front property for others to pick up.
The City says it is similar to a garage sale, but without the formality of a price, as everything is free. The goal is to divert reusable goods from landfills.
All you have to do to participate is to place your unwanted items on the front of your property next to the curb or sidewalk during the event. Items cannot be placed in the rear alley, on sidewalks or on the roadway.
The City reminds you to put away items that are regularly stored outside to avoid confusion about what is and isn’t up for grabs.
Residents are responsible for cleaning up any of their remaining Free-cycle items by the end of the day on June 9. Depending on the item, it may qualify for collection during the Large Item Pickup event next week.
