The parade will leave Spruce Grove Composite High School at 1 p.m. on June 13, and will make its way around the city.
The Spruce Grove Gay-Straight Alliance will host their first ever Car Pride Parade this year.
On Saturday, June 13, the parade will begin at Spruce Grove Composite High School. Those participating are invited to decorate their vehicles with ribbons, balloons, pride flags and other accessories for the occasion. Any decorative items must be tied on to the vehicles in order to reduce the amount of time dedicated to cleanup.
The idea came after their original plan, like so many others, was derailed by COVID-19 and the need for social distancing, as the Alliance had suspended operations.
Following the start at Composite High School, the parade will leave at 1 p.m. to begin to make its way around Spruce Grove. Anyone decorating their vehicles is welcome to arrive early.
Prizes, provided by donations from various businesses and donors, will be given to best dressed cars.
