Spruce Grove city manager retiring

Robert Cotterill stepping down on May 3

Spruce Grove City Manager Robert Cotterill says he's moving into the next phase of his life.

At Monday's meeting, city council will be notified of Cotterill's plans to retire on May 3.

The City Manager started in Spruce Grove back in early 2014, and is concluding a 38-year municipal career.

Before Spruce Grove, Cotterill had worked in the same position for the City of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan for nearly six years.

Both those positions after a 13-year stint as the CAO in Port Colborne, Ontario.

He says his career has taken him to five different municipalities in four provinces and one territory.

Details on the search for his replacement will be brought forward in the coming months.
