Major routes, city centre being tackled
Work crews in Stony Plain have started removing snow along the main arteries, access roads and school zones as of 6:00 this morning.
The town's policy dictates that residential snow removal kicks in when there's 15 cm of packed snow measured.
Back at the beginning of December, packed snow was approaching 5 cm in the Briarwood, Westerra, and Brickyard areas.
Snow removal is also taking place in Spruce Grove, with crews working in the city centre area between King Street, Calahoo Road, Mohr Avenue, and Highway 16A.
White no parking signs have been posted up on the affected streets - crews will tow vehicles that are in the way.
