Red-handed thief nearly caught

Man escapes from St. Albert house after owner comes home

A homeowner in St. Albert stopped a break and enter in progress last week.
At about 11:20 on Friday morning, they returned to their home on Harvest Court to find a man inside, who had rummaged through drawers and cupboards.
He then ran out the back door and hopped the fence to escape.
The suspect is described as a skinny white man in his early 20's, who was wearing a tan hoodie, tattered blue jeans, and a black ball cap.
Police are reminding everyone that thieves like to strike in the summer when people are on vacation, and that it's helpful to have watchful neighbours when you're gone.
