Recycle Christmas Trees in Stony Plain

Town's program uses wood chips for landscaping

Stony Plain says it wants to keep Christmas Trees out of landfills again this year.

The annual Tree Chipping Event happens from now up until January 18th, allowing people to recycle their trees at the Rotary Recycling Centre.

The trees will be chipped into mulch, which the town uses for landscaping in various projects.

In Spruce Grove, the city still has curbside pickup for Christmas trees.

However, council voted a couple months ago not to pay for that service when its waste collection contract is renewed later this year.
