RCMP traffic stops lead to massive drug seizures in last five months

Since July, nine traffic stops on Alberta highways have led to significant seizures of drugs, cash and one weapon.

From July until November, Alberta RCMP have conducted nine significant search and seizures on vehicles. The searches were done in areas like Stony Plain, Cochrane, Canmore, Lake Louise and Banff.

Vehicle searches resulted in the seizures of 11 kg of Cocaine, 1.675 kg of Fentanyl, and 90.5 pounds of illegal Cannabis. MDMA, GHB and Methamphetamines were also found, along with over $37,500 in cash and a .32 caliber pistol.

The Stony Plain seizure alone ended in the seizing of 35 pounds of Marijuana. The incidents led to RCMP confiscating over 233,000 doses of the drugs.
