Police say a teenage girl was driving on Range Road 20 in Parkland County on Friday around 9:30 p.m.when the incident occurred.
Local RCMP are reminding people to exercise caution when you see someone in distress on the side of the road.
This comes in response to a local teenager being assaulted when she stopped to assist a man who appeared to be in distress on Range Road 20 in Parkland County.
Police say on Friday around 9:30 p.m., the teenage girl was driving when a man standing in the middle of the road flagged her down. Upon exiting her vehicle, she was grabbed by the man and punched several times in the face. The suspect then got into his vehicle and fled the scene. RCMP believe he was attempting to steal the teenager's vehicle.
The man is described as white, over six feet tall, with stubble on his face and a large nose that’s red in colour. The vehicle is said to be a black or dark-coloured long box truck.
